Collection: Beechworth Wines
Beechworth is one of Victoria's most distinctive and undersung wine regions — a historic gold rush town in the foothills of the Victorian Alps where granite soils, high altitude and a continental climate combine to produce wines of extraordinary mineral precision and longevity. Our Beechworth collection brings together two of the region's most compelling producers. Savaterre is the region's benchmark estate, crafting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of genuine cellar-worthiness — the Reserve Pinot Noir has drawn 97 points from James Suckling and 96 points from both The Wine Front and Halliday — alongside one of Australia's rarest wines, the 'Maurizio' Sagrantino, a powerful, structured expression of the ancient Umbrian variety that earned 96 points from Halliday. Sentio Wines adds further depth with a mineral Beechworth Chardonnay and a single-vineyard Black Springs Nebbiolo — two more examples of the region's remarkable affinity for Italian varieties grown far from their homeland. These are wines of real ambition and a region very much worth discovering.
