The Barossa Valley is Australian wine's most storied address. Settled by Silesian and British immigrants in the 1840s, it is home to some of the oldest continuously producing Shiraz vines on earth — gnarled, dry-grown survivors that yield fruit of extraordinary concentration, depth and complexity. This is the heartland of Australian Shiraz, but the Barossa is far more than a single variety. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Semillon all find their voice here, shaped by the valley's warm days, cool nights and ancient soils.
