About Pobblebonk Field Blend

The Pobblebonk is named after the Pobblebonk frog — a native of the Mornington Peninsula, known for its distinctive call and its love of the cool, damp conditions that also make the Peninsula one of Australia's greatest cool-climate wine regions. A field blend is a wine made from multiple varieties co-planted in the same vineyard and harvested and fermented together — an old-world tradition that produces wines of extraordinary complexity, integration and site expression. Quealy is one of the Mornington Peninsula's most celebrated and characterful producers, founded by Kathleen Quealy — one of Australia's most respected and pioneering alternative variety winemakers, with decades of experience crafting wines of genuine character and regional expression from the Peninsula's extraordinary cool-climate terroir.

It represents:

  • a true field blend from one of the Mornington Peninsula's most celebrated and pioneering producers
  • Kathleen Quealy's old-world approach to cool-climate white winemaking — complex, integrated and deeply characterful
