About the Wine
Paolo Scavino has been one of the leading names in Barolo for generations, crafting some of the region's most highly acclaimed single-vineyard wines.
The estate purchased its parcel in Rocche dell'Annunziata in 1990, recognising the vineyard's extraordinary potential long before it became one of Barolo's most sought-after crus. Situated in La Morra, its calcareous marl soils produce Nebbiolo with incredible perfume, silky tannins and exceptional elegance.
Unlike the more muscular wines of Serralunga d'Alba, Rocche dell'Annunziata is celebrated for producing Barolos that combine immense complexity with grace, making it one of the world's truly great vineyard sites.
Food Pairings
Perfect with:
- White truffle risotto
- Beef Wellington
- Braised beef cheeks
- Osso buco
- Roast duck
- Wild mushroom pappardelle
- Parmigiano Reggiano
Cellaring
Although already showing incredible harmony, this Barolo Riserva is built to evolve gracefully for another 20–30 years.
With time, expect further layers of dried roses, leather, truffle, tobacco and forest floor to emerge while the tannins become even more refined.
