About the Wine

Few producers have helped define modern Barolo like Paolo Scavino.

Founded in 1921, the Scavino family has built an extraordinary collection of vineyard holdings across the Barolo region, allowing the estate to produce a fascinating range of wines that show just how dramatically Nebbiolo changes from one great cru to another.

And Prapò gives Scavino access to one of the most important communes in all of Barolo:

Serralunga d'Alba.

Serralunga is renowned for producing some of Barolo's most structured, mineral and long-lived wines.

The soils here are dominated by ancient Lequio Formation, rich in compact calcareous marl, sandstone and limestone.

These poorer, mineral-rich soils help produce Nebbiolo with:
