🔥 Six Single-Vineyard Wines. Three Great Geelong Sites. Scores Up to 97+.

97+ | 97+ | 97 | 96+ | 96+ | 95 — Halliday Wine Companion

If the Mulline Geelong Greatest Hits pack is the introduction, this is where things get seriously exciting.

This is Mulline at the pointy end.

Six wines.

Six individual single-vineyard expressions.

Two Chardonnays.

Three Pinot Noirs.

One Shiraz Viognier.

And an extraordinary collection of scores from Halliday Wine Companion, The Wine Front and JamesSuckling.com.

Combined RRP $385

Mulline has rapidly become one of the most exciting producers in Geelong, and these wines show exactly why.

Halliday has already named Mulline Best Value Winery, praising not only the vineyard resources behind the wines but the talent of winemaker Ben Mullen.

But these aren't the regional wines.

These are the Single-Vineyard Superstars.

2025 Mulline Sutherlands Creek Chardonnay

97+ Halliday Wine Companion | 95+ The Wine Front

97+ POINTS.

That's an enormous score.

The wine comes from the Strathmore Vineyard at Sutherlands Creek in the Moorabool Valley, planted in 1998 to P58 Chardonnay.

The site features grey and brown loams and clay loams over fragmented granite, giving Mulline a very different expression of Chardonnay to the coastal Portarlington wine.

The winemaking is serious but beautifully restrained: natural fermentation on full solids, eight months in barrel and 30% new French oak.

Expect white peach, nectarine and citrus, with flint, spice, subtle nuttiness and a beautiful mineral drive.

There's concentration, but also tension.

Texture, but also freshness.

97+ Halliday and 95+ Wine Front.

This is serious Australian Chardonnay.

2025 Mulline Portarlington Chardonnay

96+ Halliday Wine Companion | 96 The Wine Front

Now taste what happens when Chardonnay moves from Sutherlands Creek to the Bellarine Peninsula.

The fruit comes from the Nurringa Park Vineyard at Portarlington, planted in 1994.

The soils here are completely different:

Sandy loam and dark clay over ironstone.

It's also a different Chardonnay clone — I10V1 — and Mulline uses only 20% new French oak, with natural fermentation on full solids followed by eight months in barrel.

The result is another outstanding Chardonnay, but with its own personality.

96+ Halliday

96 The Wine Front

Think citrus, white stone fruit, saline minerality and fine oak, with lovely tension and length.

Same winemaker. Same vintage. Different vineyard. Different soils. Different wine.

That's exactly why this pack is so fascinating.

🍷 2025 Mulline Sutherlands Creek Pinot Noir

97 Halliday Wine Companion | 95 The Wine Front

Back to the Strathmore Vineyard, but this time Pinot Noir.

The vines were planted in 1998 on those distinctive fragmented-granite soils, with Mulline working exclusively with MV6 Pinot Noir.

The 2025 was made with 30% whole bunch and 25% new French oak, followed by eight months in barrel.

And the result?

97 POINTS – HALLIDAY

95 POINTS – THE WINE FRONT

This is Pinot with perfume and energy.

Expect red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, layered with florals, spice, forest floor and savoury complexity.

Fine tannins give the wine structure without taking away from its beautiful fruit.

97-point single-vineyard Geelong Pinot Noir.

That's impressive territory.

2025 Mulline Portarlington Pinot Noir

97+ Halliday Wine Companion | 94 The Wine Front

Another monster Halliday score.

97+ POINTS.

This comes from the same Nurringa Park Vineyard as the Portarlington Chardonnay.

Planted in 1994.

Bellarine Peninsula.

Sandy loam and dark clay over ironstone.

MV6 Pinot Noir.

Mulline uses 30% whole bunch and 30% new French oak here, producing a wine of perfume, structure and genuine site expression.

Halliday's verdict:

97+

with 94 points from The Wine Front.

It's a brilliant counterpoint to the Sutherlands Creek Pinot Noir.

Open them side by side.

Same variety.

Same vintage.

Same winemaker.

Different vineyards.

And that's when the idea behind Mulline really comes alive.

2025 Mulline Modewarre Pinot Noir

96+ Halliday Wine Companion

Now we introduce a third Geelong site.

Modewarre.

The fruit comes from the Brown Magpie Vineyard, planted in 2001 on the Surf Coast.

And again, the soils change dramatically.

Here you've got:

Sandy loam → clay → estuary marl → limestone.

Mulline uses four Pinot clones — MV6, 777, 114 and 115 — with a substantial 60% whole bunch and 25% new French oak.

That whole-bunch component brings another dimension of perfume, spice and savoury structure.

And Halliday gave it:

96+ POINTS.

This is exactly what a single-vineyard collection should do.

It doesn't just give you another Pinot Noir — it gives you another expression of Geelong.

2025 Mulline Sutherlands Creek Shiraz Viognier

95 Halliday | 95 The Wine Front | 95 JamesSuckling.com

And finally, something completely different.

95 + 95 + 95.

Three major reviews.

Three identical scores.

This is Mulline's Sutherlands Creek Shiraz Viognier, again from the Strathmore Vineyard.

The blend is:

94% Shiraz | 6% Viognier

with the wine spending eight months in barrel and seeing just 20% new French oak.

This isn't massive, jammy Australian Shiraz.

It's a more perfumed, cool-climate style.

Think:

Blackberry & blueberry

Violets

Cracked pepper

Savoury herbs

Dark cherry

Fine French oak

The Viognier adds lift and fragrance while the Shiraz provides the dark fruit, pepper and structure.

95 Halliday. 95 Wine Front. 95 JamesSuckling.com.

A brilliant way to finish the six-pack.

Three Vineyards. One Brilliant Geelong Tasting.

This is what makes the pack special.

You're not simply getting six highly rated wines.

You're tasting Geelong through individual vineyards.

Sutherlands Creek – Strathmore Vineyard

Fragmented granite beneath grey and brown loams and clay loams.

2025 Sutherlands Creek Chardonnay – 97+ Halliday

2025 Sutherlands Creek Pinot Noir – 97 Halliday

2025 Sutherlands Creek Shiraz Viognier – 95 Halliday

Portarlington – Nurringa Park Vineyard

Sandy loam and dark clay over ironstone.

2025 Portarlington Chardonnay – 96+ Halliday

2025 Portarlington Pinot Noir – 97+ Halliday

Modewarre – Brown Magpie Vineyard

Sandy loam, clay, estuary marl and limestone.

2025 Modewarre Pinot Noir – 96+ Halliday

That is one hell of a Geelong masterclass.

Look at the Halliday Scores

Across six bottles:

97+

97+

97

96+

96+

95

That's ridiculous consistency.

Then add 95+, 96, 95, 94 and 95 from The Wine Front, plus another 95 from JamesSuckling.com.

But this pack is about more than scores.

It's about tasting vineyard, soil and place.

It's about seeing what happens when the same winemaker takes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from completely different Geelong sites and lets those vineyards express themselves.

That's where Mulline becomes really exciting.

Why We Love This Pack

Mulline was only established in 2019, yet Halliday has already named it Best Value Winery, and the current single-vineyard range shows how quickly this producer has moved into seriously impressive territory.

The philosophy is straightforward: wines with structure, definition and freshness that showcase the diversity of Geelong.

This six-pack captures that philosophy beautifully.

Two Chardonnays.

Three Pinot Noirs.

One Shiraz Viognier.

Three distinctive vineyards.

Scores from 95 to 97+.

There isn't a passenger in the box.

If you've tried Mulline's regional wines and wondered how much further Ben Mullen can push the quality when he isolates individual vineyard sites:

Here is your answer.

Mulline’s Single-Vineyard Superstars Mixed 6-Pack.

👉 Put all six on the table and taste them side by side. This isn't merely a mixed six-pack — it's a brilliant snapshot of modern Geelong and one of the most exciting young producers in Victorian wine.
