About the Wine
Founded in 1893, Maison Marc Brédif has earned an international reputation for producing some of the Loire Valley's most ageworthy Chenin Blancs. The estate's vineyards are planted on the limestone and clay soils that define Vouvray, while the wines are matured in the region's famous underground limestone caves where temperature and humidity remain naturally constant year-round.
The Grande Année label is reserved for wines from particularly outstanding vintages, selected for their balance, concentration and ability to mature gracefully over many years. The 2012 vintage has now developed beautiful secondary complexity while retaining the vibrant acidity that is the hallmark of great Chenin Blanc.
Food Pairings
Perfect with:
- Roast pork with apple
- Roast chicken
- Lobster and scallops
- Creamy mushroom dishes
- Soft goat's cheese
- Comté and Gruyère
Cellaring
Drinking beautifully today but will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 10–15 years, developing greater notes of honey, toasted nuts and beeswax while maintaining remarkable freshness.
