About the Wine
Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of the jewels of Margaux, recognised as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé (Second Growth) in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Classification.
The estate occupies one of the appellation's finest terroirs, with deep gravel soils that produce Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional perfume, finesse and longevity. Together with Merlot grown on carefully selected clay-rich parcels, Rauzan-Ségla consistently crafts wines that perfectly balance power with elegance.
Since Chanel acquired the château in 1994, significant investment in the vineyards and winery has elevated Rauzan-Ségla to the very highest level of Bordeaux. Today it is widely regarded as one of the finest estates in Margaux and one of the greatest values among Bordeaux's elite classified growths.
The 2018 blend is approximately:
- 62% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 36% Merlot
- 2% Petit Verdot
The exceptional 2018 growing season produced fruit of outstanding concentration while preserving freshness, resulting in one of the château's finest wines in decades.
Food Pairings
Perfect with:
- Beef Wellington
- Dry-aged Wagyu
- Roast lamb
- Duck breast
- Venison loin
- Black truffle dishes
