About the Wine

Classified as a Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru Classé) in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Beychevelle has become one of the leading estates of Saint-Julien.

The 2019 vintage is a blend of approximately:

  • 49% Merlot
  • 46% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 3% Petit Verdot
  • 2% Cabernet Franc

This near-equal balance between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot creates a wine of exceptional harmony, where Cabernet provides structure and longevity while Merlot contributes richness and luxurious texture. The wine was matured in French oak, resulting in remarkable complexity without overwhelming the purity of the fruit.

Food Pairings

Perfect with:

  • Beef Wellington
  • Dry-aged rib-eye steak
  • Roast lamb
  • Venison
  • Duck breast
  • Aged Comté or mature Cheddar

Cellaring

Although already showing extraordinary refinement, this is a wine built for the long term.

Enjoy after extended decanting today, or cellar confidently for 20–30+ years, where it will develop the cedar, tobacco and earthy complexity that define the world's greatest Bordeaux. Critics recommend beginning to drink from around 2026 onward.
