The quality of the Bremley vineyard is beginning to speak for itself
Small production, single vineyard, serious winemaking and genuine regional character
Coal River Valley, Tasmania
NEW RELEASE
RRP $55
The 2025 Bremley Pinot Noir is an exciting new release from a small single-vineyard estate at the northern end of Tasmania's celebrated Coal River Valley.
Owned and farmed by James and Vanessa Bresnehan, Bremley works with acclaimed Tasmanian winemakers Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley, giving this emerging label some serious pedigree. The vineyard sits beneath Gunnings Sugarloaf, with cool nights, long growing days and black cracking clay and dolerite soils helping produce Pinot Noir with both concentration and freshness.
Tasting Notes
Elegant and beautifully composed, the 2025 shows ripe cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and plum, with subtle spice and earthy complexity. The palate is silky and finely structured, with bright acidity, beautifully integrated oak and fine tannins carrying the wine through to a long, refined finish.
Winemaking
The 2025 was 100% destemmed and spent around 18 days on skins before maturation for 10 months in François Frères puncheons, with approximately 35% new oak. At 13.5% alcohol, the wine balances fruit intensity with freshness and restraint.
A Tasmanian Producer to Watch
Bremley may still be a relatively new name, but the vineyard has already demonstrated its potential. The 2023 Bremley Pinot Noir received 97 points from Nick Ryan, putting this small Coal River Valley estate firmly on the radar.
The involvement of Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley adds another layer of interest, but this isn't simply about famous winemakers—the quality of the Bremley vineyard is beginning to speak for itself.
