Billy Button is one of Victoria’s most exciting and celebrated producers of alternative and Italian varieties — founded by Jo Marsh in the Alpine Valleys and King Valley regions of Victoria. ‘The Renegade’ Refosco is part of Billy Button’s adventurous Varietal Range, showcasing unique Italian grapes perfectly suited to the region’s mountain climate. Refosco — a rare ancient Italian variety from Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeast Italy, rarely seen in Australia, producing wines of extraordinary character, savoury depth and distinctive personality. Here in the Alpine Valleys it shines — perfumed, structured and brimming with energy.

Vineyard & Winemaking

Sourced from the cool, high-altitude vineyards of Victoria’s Alpine Valleys, grapes are hand-picked, wild-fermented and aged in old French oak to preserve varietal character and add subtle texture. The result is a wine that’s vibrant, savoury and utterly distinctive — a reflection of both site and winemaker Jo Marsh’s fearless creativity.
