Vineyard & Winemaking
Sourced from the McCrone Vineyard, located just west of Ata Rangi’s legendary home block in Martinborough, this single-vineyard Pinot sits on deep alluvial gravels over clay — ideal for wines of both structure and fragrance.
Hand-picked fruit is fermented with indigenous yeasts (25% whole bunch) before maturation in French oak barriques (30% new) for 11 months. Minimal intervention ensures purity of site expression — a true reflection of McCrone’s unique terroir.
Region
Martinborough, New Zealand — home to New Zealand’s most refined and long-lived Pinot Noirs. The region’s cool climate, ancient gravel soils, and maritime influence combine to deliver vibrant fruit, silky texture, and striking balance.
