“A transcendent, otherworldly wine — a monument to Riesling and one of the greatest sweet wines ever produced.”
Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Glowing deep gold with amber flashes — viscous, luminous and impossibly pure.
Aroma:
Mind-bending intensity and clarity.
Explosive aromas of:
-
apricot nectar & dried peach
-
orange blossom & honeycomb
-
candied citrus peel
-
saffron, sweet spice & chamomile
-
crystalline botrytis perfume
-
slate-derived minerality
The nose alone is worth the price of admission.
Palate:
An extraordinary combination of richness, purity and tension.
The flavours unfold in layers:
-
apricot jam & golden sultana
-
marmalade, quince & candied ginger
-
wildflower honey & caramelised peach
-
exotic spice and saffron
-
shimmering mineral electricity
The sweetness is profound yet perfectly balanced by rapier-like acidity.
The texture is unctuous yet weightless — floating across the palate with impossible grace.
Finish:
Endless.
A finish that lasts for minutes, not seconds — honeyed citrus, spice, stone fruit and mineral light radiating long after the sip.
A wine that feels eternal.

About the Estate
Weingut Robert Weil is widely regarded as the Lafite/Romanée-Conti of German Riesling.
The Gräfenberg vineyard is a Grand Cru site of perfect exposure, slate-quartz soils and extraordinary ageability.
Only in the rarest of vintages does nature allow the production of a Trockenbeerenauslese — shrivelled, botrytis-affected berries of extreme concentration, harvested berry by berry.
The 2023 is already being hailed as one of the greatest TBAs in modern history.
Food Pairings
A wine like this pairs best with:
-
foie gras
-
blue cheese
-
pâté or terrine
-
stone-fruit desserts
-
or simply on its own, as a singular experience
This is less a food wine and more a liquid masterpiece.
Why We Love It
This is not just wine —
it is art,
it is history,
it is the pinnacle of Riesling.
A bottle destined to live for 50–100 years, and one of the most collectible sweet wines in the world.
A once-in-a-generation release.
