“One of the Barossa Ranges’ most distinctive and luxurious Shiraz styles — rich, velvety and deeply expressive, with incredible purity and power.”
Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Inky, opaque purple-black — a visual cue to its concentration and intensity.
Aroma:
Deeply seductive aromatics of blackberry liqueur, black cherry, dark chocolate, dried fig and sweet spice. Underneath sits a savoury foundation of graphite, roasted herbs, and subtle cedar from fine French oak.
Palate:
The hallmark “Gregor” style—fruit partially dried prior to fermentation—creates a palate that is sumptuous, plush and explosively flavoured.
Expect layers of:
-
blackberries and mulberries
-
plum compote and fig
-
dark chocolate, espresso & star anise
The texture is velvet-soft, the tannins polished, and the richness perfectly supported by balanced acidity. There is depth, warmth and generosity without heaviness.
Finish:
Long, powerful and luxuriously smooth, leaving trailing notes of black fruit, cocoa and spice. A wine of presence and drama.

Why We Love It
This wine is sumptuous, hedonistic Barossa at its best — dripping with flavour yet refined and impeccably balanced.
At $120, it massively outperforms its price bracket and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with bottles priced much higher.
An iconic, collector-worthy wine — and one of the most distinctive Shiraz styles in Australia.
