About Meadowbank

Meadowbank is one of Tasmania's most historic and respected wine estates, founded by the Ellis family in the Derwent Valley in the 1970s — one of the pioneering estates of Tasmanian wine, helping to establish the island's reputation for world-class cool-climate sparkling and still wines. Their estate vineyards in the Derwent Valley showcase Tasmania's unique terroir and extraordinary cool-climate potential for producing sparkling wines of international standard — with the Blanc de Blancs as their most celebrated and distinctive expression.

Winemaking

The 2019 Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay using the traditional method (méthode traditionnelle), aged on lees for added depth and texture. The result is a sparkling wine of remarkable balance — combining the vibrancy and citrus precision of cool-climate Derwent Valley Chardonnay with the creamy complexity and autolytic depth of extended lees aging.
