About Blanc de Noirs
Blanc de Noirs — "white wine from black grapes" — is one of Champagne's most distinctive and characterful styles, made exclusively from Pinot Noir (and occasionally Pinot Meunier) with the skins removed before fermentation to preserve the wine's pale colour. The result is a Champagne of extraordinary depth, red fruit character and mineral complexity — the power and structure of Pinot Noir expressed through the precision and elegance of Champagne winemaking. Larmandier-Bernier's 1er Cru Blanc de Noirs is a rare and striking expression of this style — biodynamic Premier Cru Pinot Noir of extraordinary richness, elegance and finesse.
About Larmandier-Bernier
Larmandier-Bernier is one of Champagne's most celebrated and respected biodynamic grower-producers, based in Vertus on the Côte des Blancs. Pierre and Sophie Larmandier farm biodynamically with extraordinary care and precision, producing Champagne of extraordinary quality and terroir expression through natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, partial oak maturation, extended lees aging and low dosage.
Winemaking
The 1er Cru Blanc de Noirs is made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from Premier Cru vineyards. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and partial vinification in oak barrels builds texture and complexity. Extended lees aging adds richness, while a low dosage highlights both the fruit intensity and the chalky character of the terroir — a winemaking philosophy of extraordinary integrity and precision.
